Katy Theatre Company is proud to announce our summer production of Bugsy Malone Jr., led by award-winning director Bruce Lumpkin.
Based on the film and featuring a catchy, swinging score by the composer of The Muppet Movie, Bugsy Malone Jr. delivers high-energy, laugh-out-loud fun for the whole family! Two gangs in a city populated only by young people during the 1930s, are in a rivalry of Capone-ian standards. Busy Malone, a one-time boxer, is thrust into the limelight when he becomes the last chance Fat Sam's gang has of surviving. All Bugsy really wants to do is spend time with his new love, Blousey... but that just isn't in the cards for our hero.
This high-energy, kid-friendly musical is packed with comedy, music, and unforgettable characters, making it the perfect summer experience for performers and crew alike. Students will train in an intensive rehearsal process and perform on a state-of-the-art professionally equipped stage. This production will offer students a real-world theatrical experience from rehearsal to performance.
